Yearly events for industry networking and modules tailored specifically to finding your specialisation in the industry have taught me much about where I want to be in the games industry and how to reach that goal when I graduate. The Motion Capture Stage is located in the Cadman Building, working alongside The Smart Zone. This facility hosts sessions that show students how to set up and prepare shoots at a high industry level. The sessions provided give in-depth information that covers each stage, from preparation to exporting data for use within a project. Our students and members of the general public take part in a three day event developing digital or analogue games in their own teams using our Cadman Studios where our Games and VFX courses are run.

Advanced Programming For Games

You will learn the underlying principles of digital imaging in both its static and moving forms.
The majority of units are assessed through coursework, group and individual projects, portfolios, essays, presentations or exams. Constant feedback and advice from a supervisory or unit team will be provided to support you in your work. At level 4 you are assessed on your understanding of the fundamental concepts of computing and digital technologies and their application. For example, you will learn about digital design and content creation for animation as well as introductory programming, and interactive development. You should also be able to demonstrate the inter-relationships between technical development and design. At level 6 you will be required to demonstrate independent thinking and initiative.
