Using professional techniques acquired through lectures, tutorials, seminars, and industry workshops, you will develop a portfolio of industry standard work. Explore graphics, animation, concept art, 3D modelling, interactive design, player psychology and multiplayer. Engage with the thriving games sector through live briefs, games conferences, end of year show and various field trips in the UK and abroad. You will study five compulsory modules which will deepen your skills in games design, art, and animation, in addition to teaching you the fundamentals of game programming and entrepreneurship. Our Team Project Challenge gives you the opportunity to develop a range of professional skills by working as part of a small student team on a specific project. The projects are research-based and incorporate the concepts of specifications, design, and implementation. You’ll learn about sustainability, project and time management, design, legal issues, health and safety, data analysis and presentation, team reporting, and self-evaluation.
You’ll learn by doing, developing your own games using the high-performance kit in our Games Laboratory and software for use on your own PC. If you want to become one of the artists or animators that create the content for the next generation of games, apps, movies and streaming shows, this course will develop your art skills with the latest technologies. The STEM building is home to courses in the subject areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
- Upon graduation, you could progress into a range of careers in the game industry, for example game or graphics programmer, tools programmer or QA tester in either larger companies or independent studios.

- We assess your ability to think in a programmatic way in the very first week of term and if you require additional support, we offer classes which will boost your skills and confidence with programming.
You’ll be expected to provide the materials for use in your individual major projects; costs will vary depending on the materials selected. Applicants will typically be required to pass the Diploma of Academic Lyceum at an average of 3, and the first year of a university degree in a relevant subject with an average grade of 70%, to include any essential subject. Applicants will typically be required to pass the Certificate of Secondary Education at an average of 3, and the first year of a university degree in a relevant subject with an average grade of 4.0, to include any essential subject. Applicants will typically be required to pass the High School Diploma at an average of 55%, and the first year of a university degree in a relevant subject with an average grade of 3.5 or 65 , to include any essential subject.
