Electronic Engineering And Computer Science Beng computer engineering

Jimmy/ November 17, 2021/ computer engineering

With continuing advances in technology, high user expectations and increasing statutory requirements, there is a high-demand for skilled engineers in electronic computing. Of undergraduate students in the Department of Electronic Engineering were in work or further study 15 months after graduation. 95.5% of undergraduate students in the Department of Electronic Engineering were in work or further study 15 months after graduation. If you are a UK student or have settled/pre-settled status and you want to study full-time then you apply through the Universities and Colleges Admission Service . We have a dedicated team to search for and inform students about relevant opportunities and help students prepare for interviews. We also provide advice and support on budgeting, money management and financial hardship.

  • We will update you regularly on our teaching plans for the next academic year as you progress your application with us.
  • Working in multi-disciplinary groups of about six, students will work in interdisciplinary teams on a real world problem over an intensive week-long project.
  • Participating students will also be trained in how to reflect on their skills and experiences and can gain an understanding of how to articulate the significance of these to others, e.g. employers.
  • The understanding of the limits of computation for a given problem is developed using a range of examples.

If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take. Areas of study include digital signal processing, microprocessor systems design, and product innovation and management. This module will provide you with context and practical experience of electrical engineering. You will be introduced to fundamental characteristics of power system components, electrical power generation and distribution systems.

International & Eu Entry Requirements

You’ll learn about theoretical programming and gain practical experience in developing applications for computing platforms and hardware. This module aims to provide you with understanding of the process of developing software using various programming languages and hardware components. You’ll be familiarised with the state of the art phased process of software development. The module will introduce you to technical and non-technical aspects of software development process that will allow them to successfully take project from requirements stage, through design to a fully working product. This three-year degree will give you the opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge of computer engineering.

You will graduate as a skilled professional who can actively contribute to, and manage, the design and development of industrial projects. Year 3 provides opportunities to develop advanced knowledge and skills in microprocessor and sensing systems applications in engineering, as well as embedded systems, operating systems, internet security and IT management. You will also complete a research and development project which will involve the creation of an appropriate piece of software or hardware. The emphasis at this level is on the development of independent study skills. This module aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills required to carry out computing and engineering projects that address one or more elements of a major issue of current concern with reference to industrial practice.

University Open Days

There will be a heavy emphasis on group working, report writing and presentation as part of the assessment supplemented by online exercises and an individual portfolio. Each academic year of the programme includes a project that replicates industrial practice that will give you the practical skills required for the professional practice, maximising your employability chances. You will develop a range of practical competencies which, by the end of year two, are relevant to the needs of industry and student employability and will help you to gain industrial experience on placement.

Computer Systems Engineering Beng

In Stage 3, you’ll complete in-depth modules covering topics such as database technology, telecommunication networks, and accounting, finance, and law for engineers. Full details of the modules on offer will be published through theProgramme Regulations and Specifications ahead of each academic year. Each stage lasts for one academic year, and you’ll complete modules totalling 120 credits by the end of each stage. If you are a student from the EU, EEA or Switzerland, you may be asked to complete a fee status questionnaire and your answers will be assessed using guidance issued by the UK Council for International Student Affairs .
