- Assessment methods vary according to modules and include practical exercises, presentations, essays, scripts, project proposals, strategy documents, reports, exams, blogs and in some cases production work.

Through the course so far, I’ve been able to perfect a television pitch within my content development module. I’ve also had the opportunity to produce several projects, including an as-live studio gameshow in one of the facilities’ TV studios! Every course at York has been designed to provide clear and ambitious learning outcomes. These learning outcomes give you an understanding of what you will be able to do at the end of the course. We develop each course by designing modules that grow your abilities towards the learning outcomes and help you to explain what you can offer to employers.
At this point, you set the agenda, supported by academic and industry professionals to carry out a project of your choice to launch your career, post-graduation. The purpose of this module is to enable you to undertake a sustained, in-depth and theoretically informed research project exploring an area that is of personal interest to you. It is important that we can support you appropriately, so you will be guided towards choosing a research topic which is relevant to your discipline and in which your lecturers have expertise. The outcome may take the form of a written dissertation or a practice-based portfolio. School or college experience – Highlight skills gained at school/college, eg summer schools or mentoring activities. All students can sign up to the online learning language platform for free through the Graduate+ scheme.
The collaborative nature of the creative industries however means that some of your modules will involve group work. In these you will be assessed on work that you have produced as a team, as well as on your individual contribution to the project. We teach you in a variety of formats, from lectures, seminars and workshops, through to problem-based learning sessions where you will work on business and creative challenges in small industrial teams. In your third year there will be one-to-one or Executive Producer style supervision for individual and group projects.

Subsidised field trips and opportunities for students to visit internationally significant collections and exhibitions throughout the course. The MA offers a unique combination of academic research-based modules and more practical, hands-on experience. It will also allow you to become more involved in University life by delivering, leading and supporting many aspects of the learning experience, from administration to research and mentoring roles. The Faculty-wide modules allow for the crossover and building of networks between courses. Through these modules you will be integrated into the City of Birmingham, engaging with local contexts and negotiating external relationships whilst developing key employability skills. The other core module requires you to initiate and carry out a project relevant to your career aims.
Background & History of A&B NI
University of South Florida and Exeter have entered into a 5 year student exchange between the two Universities. They launched the University of Exeter / University of South Florida Research Catalyst Fund to provide grants to support joint research initiatives between the two institutions. This level 6 top-up course can either be studied one year full time, or two years part time. The purpose of this module is to introduce key concepts and debates around global commercial art markets, from various perspectives and with all stakeholders in mind. You should also mention your future plans – if you’re planning to take a year out, don’t forget to give your reasons.
